Coming Soon To Richmond Beach Park: Goats

The city of Shoreline has hired a pack of four-legged temporary employees to literally eat Richmond Beach Saltwater Park.

SHORELINE, WA - The city of Shoreline has hired a new group of temporary workers, but they'll spend their entire time in the city on lunch break.

Over the next six months, a pack of goats will roam parts of Richmond Beach Saltwater Park to manage vegetation in the park. The horned employees will mostly stick to the areas near the lower parking lot. The goats will be working on managing the bioswales, which manage dirt and debris from stormwater runoff.

The goats will come to Shoreline from the Seattle landscaping company Earthcraft Services. Shoreline has actually been using Earthcraft's goats for a few years, so you might already be familiar with the ruminants.
