Deputies Involved In Fatal Shoreline Shooting Identified
The deputies opened fire on a 55-year-old man while serving a warrant at a home in Shoreline last Thursday.

SHORELINE, WA - The three King County deputies involved in the shooting death of a suspect last week have been identified. The deputies opened fire after the suspect allegedly pointed a handgun at them inside a home.
The deputies are assigned to different units within the sheriff's department, but they are all members of the TAC-30 SWAT team. The deputies are: George Alvarez, a 20-year veteran; Jesse Herrera, an 18-year veteran, and Steve Shalloway, a 6-year veteran.
All three deputies are on paid leave as the department investigates the shooting. The 55-year-old victim has not been identified.

The SWAT team went to a home along the 19000 block of 16th Avenue Northeast last Thursday morning to serve a search warrant related to possible drug and weapons violations. The three deputies entered a bedroom, which is when the victim allegedly picked up a handgun, refused to drop it, and then pointed it at the officers.
