THIS CAMPAIGN:
What is the primary reason you are running for this office?
Â
I have decided to run for City Council because I want to ensure that our City Council is meeting our citizen's expectations. In 2010, Proposition 1 was a wake-up call. Like 78 percent of Lake Forest Park, I voted against it. But it shouldn't have come to that. Instead of making tough budget decisions, the Council placed Proposition One on the ballot. I've spent the last 20 years making tough decisions for my business, and we need to start making tough decisions on our city budget.
What will be your top three priorities if you get elected and why?
Â
Priority one will be to address our budget and restore fiscal responsibility and accountability. My second and third priorities - assuring public safety and city infrastructure - will serve as guidelines as we make the tough decisions required to achieve priority one.
What sets you apart from the other candidates and/or previous office holders?
Â
A fresh, pragmatic, business-management view to guide our city in tough times. I built a business that has grown every year for over 20 years, and I accomplished that by listening to and earning the trust of my customers - which is not easy in the auto repair business. On the Council, all of Lake Forest Park will be my customers, and I've proven I respond to my customers.Â
Â
How much money do you expect your campaign to spend on this election?
No more than what I, and other citizens, donate in time and money.
What groups or individuals are your major endorsers?
Lake Forest Park Government Watch
Family, Friends, Neighbors; the most important endorsement I am trying to get is that of the Lake Forest Park citizens. I'm hoping that endorsement will come on election day.
