Seattle Man Rescues Kayaker From Puget Sound

A local man with a paddle board was able to reach the kayaker and bring him to shore.

SHORELINE, WA - A local man rescued a kayaker who fell into Puget Sound Sunday afternoon off Shoreline. The kayaker was in the water for about 15 minutes, according to Shoreline fire officials, and was brought to shore with signs of hypothermia.

Paddle boarder Bryce Hansen was on shore at Richmond Beach Saltwater Park when he spotted the kayaker in distress. He put out on a wet suit and borrowed a paddleboard out to carry out the rescue.

The kayaker was taken to Harborview for treatment of hypothermia. In addition to Shoreline fire, the Coast Guard and Edmonds police also responded to help.
