Breakdown: King’s will be facing its toughest test of the season in an undefeated Lakewood team. Lakewood is ranked fifth in the state in 2A in the latest Associated Press poll and is coming off a big 26-22 victory over previously undefeated Archbishop Murphy last week. The Cougars are averaging over 400 yards of offense per game, including over 230 per game on the ground. Quarterback Justin Peterson leads the offense, having thrown for six touchdowns and rushed for another eight, while running backs Christian Melton and Donovan Evans have combined for 558 rushing yards in five games. The Lakewood defense is also stout, allowing an average of just over 14 points per game. King’s is coming off of a 35-6 win over South Whidbey a week after suffering its first loss of the season in a 34-27 defeat at the hands of Cedarcrest. Quarterback Billy Green has 17 touchdown passes against just one interception on the season, while running back Zach Evans is coming off of a 141-yard performance last week against South Whidbey. The Knights say they have state title aspirations this season and Lakewood will provide a true test of this team's talent.
