Lake Forest Park Sets Anniversary Dates
Lots of activities planned in June for the city's 50th birthday.
Lake Forest Park has announced the dates for its official 50th anniversary celebration.
The celebration will take place June 17-19, with activities are planned all weekend at Horizon View and Animal Acres parks. The celebration culminates June 19 next to the Farmer’s Market. In front of , there will be music, clowns, bouncy toys for the children and cake for everyone.
Also taking place during the celebration will be the Secret Gardens of Lake Forest Park Garden Tour and Plant sale. It is scheduled June 18.
In addition, there are storytelling opportunities tied into the celebration. On June 16, the Threshold Theatre will be at City Hall telling the stories of the history of Lake Forest Park. The event will take place in City Hall an hour before the Council meeting. Councilmembers and commissioners, local historians and storytellers will all be on hand.
