LFP 50th Anniversary Celebration at Horizon View Park

Warm hot dogs filled their stomachs. Small children playing and high energy goats filled their hearts. Many enjoyed their time at Horizon View Park, celebrating LFP's 50th Anniversary.

The rain did not dismay hundreds of people, as they arrived at Horizon View Park in Lake Forest Park for a big 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Large Army trucks from Fort Lawton welcomed the visitors with demonstrations of how the vehicles worked.  Many curious on-lookers came closer to chat with the Army personnel, who will leave for Kuwait soon.  One lucky person was instructed to help tilt the truck cabin from its big haul.

Nearby, another tent was very popular because it contained two large BBQ appliances that cooked hot dogs and warmed buns.  Complimentary hot dogs were distributed to all who came to the park.

Children young and old competed with each other to be “king of the hill” on the highest perch of the large, playground toy.  The Boy Scouts and Girl Scout of America proudly displayed their information to rally support and get new recruits.

Tattoo art was applied to children’s hands while a duo played guitars, singing songs from the 60’s.  A miniature petting zoo allowed smaller tykes the opportunity to pet baby goats.
