LFP Police Blotter: Woman Calls Police to Report Man Crowing Like a Rooster
The following blotter items and information from Nov. 28 through Dec. 4 were selected from the Lake Forest Park Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

NOVEMBER 28
MESSED UP MAIL: A man in the 17400 block of Ballinger Way N.E. reported that someone had broken into his mailbox and that junk mail was thrown on the ground nearby. The locked mailbox was damaged as there was a forced entry. Nearby mailboxes of neighbors were also tampered with. Police are not sure if the incident was theft, but do believe that malicious mischief happened.
THEFT: Two women reported that their wallets were stolen from the 17100 block of Bothell Way N.E. at Third Place Books. The two victims believe their wallets were taken out of their purses near the front entrance of the employee common area.

NOVEMBER 29
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE: A woman by the corner of 26th Ave. N.E. and Forest Park Drive N.E. reported that there was a man who was crowing like a rooster, wearing a multi-colored jacket and bike helmet while holding a fishing pole and what looks like a tackle box or lunch box and walking up and down people’s driveways. When police arrived, the man was gone.
CAR PROWL AND THEFT: A man in the 14800 block of Bothell Way N.E. reported that the side window of his Mini Cooper was smashed. An Apple iPod Touch and USB cord were stolen.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: A man in the 18500 block of 30th Ave. N.E. reported that he left his Ford car unlocked and someone stole $5 of change from the vehicle. The man said that a Hispanic man, 30-40 years old, wearing plaid pants and a plaid jacket as well as a dark leather jacket was in the area. The man believes the thief may be living in a vacant house nearby with other people.
NOVEMBER 30
FAMILY DISPUTE: Woman in the 16700 block of Shoreview Dr. N.E. reported that her dad took $150 from her wallet and left. The dad was angry that his money was stolen. The woman then said she believed that her drug addict brother took the cash. The woman declined to file papers to document this case.
BURGLARY: A woman in the 15600 block of 37th Ave. N.E. reported that she had been away from home for roughly three hours. Upon arrival, she found that someone had smashed her patio door. It was unclear what was stolen.
DECEMBER 1
MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: A woman in the 17400 block of Ballinger Way N.E. reported that she was parked somewhere near the Woodland North Apartment complex and someone was messing with her car.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: The principal of Lake Forest Park Elementary School, in the 18500 block of 37th Ave. N.E., reported that a vehicle was cruising up and down the road as children walked to LFP elementary. The police arrived and did not find the car anywhere near the school.
INTOXICATED MAN: Police came to the medical assistance of a 35-year-old man who was drunk nearby the 17100 block of Bothell Way N.E.
DUI: A suspected drunk driver was detained by police at the 4200 block of N.E. 197th St. as the driver attempted to drive to Horizon View Park. The driver was not able to stay in his lane.
DECEMBER 2
ALARM: A person reported that the alarm at Ross Dress for Less was going off. The police checked all entrances and found them secured. A custodian was there and confirmed that he was vaccumming nearby the front hallway when the alarm went off. Custodian did not enter Ross and does not have key to the store.
MAN DROVE THROUGH A NEIGHBOR'S YARD: A person reported from the 17800 block of 40th Ave. N.E. that an elderly man had some minor bleeding on his leg after driving through the person’s yard.
DECEMBER 3
DANGERS OF SKATEBOARDING: Two young men were seen skateboarding nearby the 19700 block of 40th Pl. NE. The police warned them of the city ordinance and dangers of skateboarding at night.
POT FOUND: A man reported that someone was driving drunk nearby the 15300 block of Bothell Way N.E. The driver was detained by police. The police found a bag of marijuana in open view on the passenger seat. The driver said he had a prescription for the pot. The police found the prescription. There was no odor of alcohol on driver’s breath and cops advised him not to drive anymore.
DECEMBER 4
ASSAULT: A man nearby the 17000 block of Brookside Blvd. N.E. reported that he was at a friend’s house when he was kicked in the head by an unknown “meth head.” The man said his jaw was messed up. The suspect was described as a white man about 6 foot 2 inches tall, in his 30s but looking more like he is in his 50s, and scrawny and dirty. He was wearing mechanics overalls. The injured declined medical aid. The suspect worked at a nearby automotive garage. TheiInjured man is willing to prosecute.
GUNSHOTS OR FIREWORKS: A woman from the 2800 block of N.E. 195th St. reported that she heard one gunshot near the back of her house. The police made contact with her neighbor, who said he was lighting fireworks. The police gave neighbor a warning about the fireworks ordinance.
