UPDATE: List Of Primary Candidates Revealed
More than 500 candidates filed in King County, but only Lake Forest Park mayor's race and a Northshore Fire District race will be contested in the August primary out of council and school board races

At the time of the Friday, June 10, filing deadline, more than 500 candidates had registered to run for 304 offices in King County.
Locally, however, only two offices, mayor of Lake Forest Park, and Commsioner Position 1 of the King County Fire Protection District No. 16 (Northshore Fire) will be a contested races in the August 16 primary.
As of June 16, the candidates were set with Eli Zehner withdrawing in the Lake Forest Park Water District race for Position 1, leaving David Hammond unopposed.

The deadline to register for this year’s primary is July 18. King County residents can register through the mail or online at King County’s elections website.
Below are the registered candidates for local offices in the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park area. The list is tentative since candidates still have until Thursday to withdraw.

Lake Forest Park City Council
City council members serve for four years, with terms staggered so that elections take place every two years.
Mayor – Incumbent Deputy Mayor Dwight Thompson, former Councilmember Many Jane Goss, and Stan Lippmann. This is the only contested position for the August 16 primary.
