Neighbors Thwart Lake Forest Park Burglary: Police

The almost-burglary happened Monday afternoon in a Lake Forest Park neighborhood north of Ballinger Way.

LAKE FOREST PARK, WA - Police are congratulating some watchful neighbors in Lake Forest Park. According to police, the neighbors observed two people behaving suspiciously near an unoccupied home. They quickly called police, and police were able to catch the suspects.

The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. Monday, according to police, in the vicinity of Northeast 195th Street and 30th Avenue Northeast. The neighbors watched as the two would-be burglars knocked on the door of the unoccupied home, looked in the windows, and then walked behind the home.

The neighbors called 911 and gave police an accurate description of the suspects, and police were able to track them down as they were leaving the area. Lake Forest Park police were also able to match a footprint found on a door of the home to one of the suspects. One of the suspects also told police that he was planning to break into the home, police said.
