Night Work on Final Phase of Aurora Beginning Tuesday Night, March 8

Stormwater pipe being installed north of 192nd St.

Crews are scheduled to begin trenching on the east side of Aurora on Tuesday night (depending on weather) to install stormwater pipe north of N 192nd Street and through the intersection of Aurora and N 192nd Street. Thisnight work is expected to be noisy due to asphalt breaking and trenching activities and will take approximately seven to ten nights to complete. Traffic on Aurora will be limited to a single lane in each direction. Flaggers and police officers will be present to provide assistance.

This work may require periodic lane closures on N 192nd Street as trenching progresses. Two-way traffic, east and westbound, will be maintained on N 192nd at all times.

After the stormwater pipe is installed, crews will shift traffic to the east and construction activities will begin on the west side of Aurora starting near N 185th Street.

Day work on Aurora Avenue
During the day, crews will continue to install temporary signals at the intersection of Aurora and N 192nd Street. This activity will at times limit a single lane of traffic on Aurora in either the northbound or southbound direction.

Construction activities at King County Metro Park & Ride
Crews will continue demolition and clearing activities at the Metro Park & Ride in preparation for construction of a new retaining wall. Transit drop-off and pick-up locations may need to be relocated periodically during construction at or near the Park & Ride. Transit riders should take care to follow detour signs and wait at designated bus stop areas. Please visit King County Metro’s Park & Ride Lot Rider Alerts page for more information.
