From pound puppies to purebreds Patch spotlights dogs who enjoy what Shoreline/Lake Forest Park has to offer. For some dogs, like this week’s pet Rocky, all they need is a loving home.
The 2 year old Schipperke & Spaniel Mix is 16 pounds of sweet companionship. Rocky gets along great with people, older kids and other dogs. He has not been around cats before.
Rocky, along with 21 other dogs, was rescued by Ginger Luke's Death Row Dog Rescue from a shelter in California as they sat in the euthanasia room. This lucky dog is hoping for a forever home very soon.

Once under Ginger’s care Rocky was groomed, including an ear cleaning. Under a vet’s care he was neutered, dewormed, microchipped and had his shots, including rabies, updated. Now he is ready to go to their forever home. His adoption fee is $525 to cover his vet care, transportation and care.
Ginger, a Shoreline resident and owner of Greenwood’s Rickshaw Restaurant, has rescued more than 3,500 dogs since January 2006.

Even people who cannot care for a rescue dog can help dogs, like Rocky, by donating to Ginger Luke's Death Row Dog Rescue, a 501 C 3 organization, to help pay the vet bills and save these dogs who have been through so much. Foster homes and donations of leashes, collars and crates are also needed.
