From pound puppies to purebreds Patch spotlights dogs who enjoy what Shoreline/Lake Forest Park has to offer. For some dogs, like this week’s pet duo Chi Chi and Bam Bam, they need a loving home.
These 8 week old purebred Red and White Toy Chihuahas were rescued in the middle of the night, when their owners had to leave their home unexpectedly, by Ginger Luke's Death Row Dog Rescue. Ginger took Chi Chi and Bam Bam’s mom knowing that there would be a forever home just waiting for these now 3 pound pups. They should grow to 6 pounds each. Ginger, a Shoreline resident and owner of Greenwood’s Rickshaw Restaurant, has rescued more than 3,500 dogs since January 2006.
These little boys along with people of all ages and other dogs, and could be socialized to cats. They will make wonderful lap dogs.

Once under Ginger’s care Chi Chi and Bam Bam were bathed, groomed, given their beginning puppy shots and treated for fleas. Under a vet’s care they were dewormed and come with neuter certificates for when they are older.
Their adoption fee is $695 each to cover their neuter, shots, grooming, boarding fees, health certificates and transport expenses.

Even those who cannot care for a rescue dog can help dogs, like Chi Chi and Bam Bam, by donating to Ginger Luke's Death Row Dog Rescue, a 501 C 3 organization, to help pay the vet bills and save these dogs who have been through so much. Foster homes and donations of leashes, collars and crates are also needed.
