The American Postal Workers Union has called for rallies across the country to garner support for legislation that it says could ameliorate the US Postal Service's financial crisis.

Shoreline will be the site of one of many rallies planned for tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 27, as part of the American Postal Workers Union's (APWU) efforts to call attention to its plight. The Shoreline rally will be held at 18560 1st Avenue N.E.,  from 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., outside Congressman Jay Inslee's 1st Congressional District office at Shoreline Center.

A press release from the APWU says it, the National Association of Letter Carriers, the National Postal Mail Handlers Union and the National Rural Letter Carriers Association plan rallies in every congressional district in the country tomorrow tell to build support for legislation that would restore financial stability to the Postal Service.

At the rallies on Sept. 27, the APWU said in the release, the unions will be asking legislators to co-sponsor to H.R. 1351, which was introduced by Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA).
