Christian education

Children's church school starts on Sunday, September 29. Sunday adult education starts Sunday, October 6, 2013. There will be more information later.

On Being Anglican continues on Wednesday evenings through September 25, 2013. It is at 7:30 pm following "Bring Your Own Dinner" and the Eucharist.

Choir

Choir practice resumes on Wednesday evenings, September 18, 2013. This is at 7:45 pm in the Education Building.

The first service the choir will sing at in the single service for the Feast Day of St. Michael and all Angels ("Michaelmas"). This is on Sunday, September 29, 2013, at 10:30 am.

Feast of St. Michael and all Angels ("Michaelmas")

Everyone is welcome to celebrate the Feast of St. Michael and all Angels. This is a single, combined service on Sunday, September 29, 2013, at 10:30 am.

The scriptural word "angel" means literally a messenger. Often, the depiction of these spirits in Christian art is in human form, with wings, swords, and dazzling clothes. Unfortunately, this has led many to dismiss angels as another mythological beast, like a unicorn, griffin, or sphinx.

The Bible only names four angels: Michael, Gabriel, Uriel, and Raphael. The Archangel Michael is the powerful agent who wards off evil, and delivers peace at the end of life's mortal struggle.
