“From Darkness into Light” is a Church of the Redeemer adult education series about the spiritual journey and dynamics of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The Rev. Canon John F. Fergueson presents this series on the four Sundays in May 2014—May 4, 11, 18 and 25—at 9:30 am.
This series will be presented in the Education Building on the Redeemer campus. Church of the Redeemer is at 6211 NE 182nd Street in Kenmore, Washington. Anyone interested in learning more about how PTSD affects spirituality is welcome to attend.
During this series, Canon Fergueson will explore basic information about PTSD, and the spiritual dynamics and moral issues involved. He will also describe spiritual practices that help people to heal from traumatic experiences.

Canon Fergueson has spent over two decades working with people on the spiritual issues associated with PTSD. He has presented numerous workshops for mental health professionals and general audiences about the topic.
What is PTSD?
“After a trauma or life-threatening event, it is common to have reactions such as upsetting memories of the event, increased jumpiness, or trouble sleeping.
