'Put the Phone Down!' Police Issue 60 Tickets In 3 Hours

Lake Forest Park Police gave out 60 tickets to distracted drivers over a three-hour span recently--and they're not stopping there.

LAKE FOREST PARK, WA - Police have a simple message for distracted drivers: "Put the phone down!" Lake Forest Police recently issued 60 tickets to drivers in a three-hour span for cell phone and other violations. This came after signs warned drivers about the dangers of distracted driving.

Many of the drivers in violation said they saw the signs but didn't heed the warning, according to a Facebook post from police.

"You can expect more emphasis patrols coming this summer," the post read. "This has got to stop."
