School Board Accepts Bid to Replace Shorecrest
Spee West Construction Co. Edmonds was low bidder
Spee West Construction Co. of Edmonds, an experienced builder of schools, won the bid to replace and modernize starting this fall.
The winning general construction contract bid was $52,348,301 for the new school and was approved unanimously by the Shoreline School Board. Spee West has been in business for more than 20 years.Â
"It's a great price," School Board President David Wilson said. "It's great to offer employment to our community in these times. They're bidding very tight and very low because they're trying to keep their crews together and hoping the (economy) gets better."

"It's tremendous," Wilson said of the project. "Here we go, as they say."
Construction is expected to be completed in time for the 2013-2014 school year. In the meantime, classes will be held on campus during the construction.Â
