Sex Offender Map: Shoreline, Lake Forest Park Locations To Be Aware Of This Halloween

Patch has created a map of nearby sex offenders so parents can better plan Halloween activities.

SHORELINE, WA — Each year around Halloween, Patch shares a map of local registered sex offenders so parents can better plan Halloween trick-or-treating. You can check the map below to see where offenders are living near you. The map was made using data from the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs sex offender registry.

Groups like the National Association for Rational Sexual Offense Laws (NARSOL) have criticized making maps like this public. You can read NARSOL's arguments against these maps in a letter the group sent to Patch.

This map may not show all of the registered offenders in the Puget Sound area because some fail to register. We have also excluded the city of Seattle. You can search for offenders in any community at the Washington at the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs website. It should also be noted that not all offenders in this map were convicted of crimes involving children.
