Shoreline Classic Car Show Revs Up For Second Year

The second annual show is July 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

After a successful first year, the Shoreline Classic Car Show returns to on Sunday, July 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Seafair Sanctioned Community Event, produced by the Meridian Park PTSA and the Greenwood Knights Car Club, featured 220 classic and vintage cars last year, and that number could climb as high as 300 for the show's second incarnation. Over 50 trophies will be awarded in categories that include, "Best Ford," "Best Chevy," "Best Foreign Car," and "Best Motorcycle."

"It's a fun, nostalgic community event," said Martin DeGrazia, who organizes and co-chairs the show. "Because of the location, it really does bring the public in. This venue had everything to do with my starting the show."

Along with the abundance of classic cars, highlights of this year's show, hosted by Brian Canfield, includes live music from local rock/blues group The Fabulous Hammers, and an appearance from the timeless local TV clown, J.P. Patches. Admission is free for spectators.

Last year's show was a financial success, bringing in over $5,000, with proceeds going to Meridian Park Elementary to fund programs and supplies for students, including a portion of the school's new playground equipment. All of the show's net proceeds this year will also go to the school.
