Shoreline Crime Rate Flat In 2016: Annual Police Report

The Shoreline police department has released its 2016 annual report, which provides data on criminal incidents.

SHORELINE, WA - The crime rate in Shoreline remained flat in 2016 compared to 2015, according to the department's annual report. The department's annual report showed that there were 27 crimes per 1,000 residents, which is the same as 2015. Shoreline police Chief Shawn Ledford will present the entire report to the City Council on Monday; it provides a snapshot of police activity over the last year. Other highlights include that the two homicides that occurred in Shoreline last year resulted in arrests; burglaries decreased; but crime like car prowls and auto thefts increased.

The department also reported on the number of arrests and calls for service in Shoreline. The department arrested 45 juveniles and 1,039 adults. Over the entire year, there were 15,896 calls for service.

Response times over the entire year averaged 5.16 minutes for critical incidents, 6.71 minutes for immediate dispatch, 9.97 minutes for prompt dispatch, and 22.96 minutes for routine dispatch.
