Shoreline Fire Responded To 10,000+ Calls In 2018

SHORELINE, WA - The Shoreline fire department had a busy 2018. The department responded to 10,430 calls for service, including 13 deployments to fight wildfires across three different states.

Those calls were distributed across a wide area because Shoreline fire also serves Lake Forest Park and parts of Bothell, Kenmore, and Woodinville. A total of about 150,000 people live in the service area, according to the department.

  • Aid non-emergency - 808
  • Motor vehicle accidents (MVA) - 265
  • MVA medic - 44, plus 37 in the Northshore area, Bothell, and Woodinville
  • MVA rescues - 8, plus 6 in Northshore, Bothell, and Woodinville
  • Surface rater rescue - 4
  • Rope rescue - 2
  • Medic - 4,756
  • Cardiac arrest - 115, plus 100 in Northshore, Bothell, and Woodinville
  • Mutual aid requests - 241
  • Automatic fire alarms - 544
  • Appliance fires - 9
  • Bark fires - 34
  • Brush fires- 28
  • Electrical odor - 9
  • Explosion w/out Structure - 1
  • Extinguished fire - 4
