King Co. Deputies Kill Man At Shoreline Home

The 55-year-old victim apparently pointed a gun at the deputies while they were serving a search warrant.

SHORELINE, WA - A 55-year-old man was shot and killed by three members of the King County Sheriff's SWAT team, TAC-30. The man apparently pointed a handgun at the deputies while they were at the house serving a warrant.

The SWAT team went to a home along the 19000 block of 16th Avenue Northeast around 4:30 a.m. to serve the warrant. The home was the target of a drug investigation, and deputies thought that the people inside were armed.

When the SWAT team entered the home, they went to a bedroom where the 55-year-old victim grabbed a handgun and refused to drop it. The three deputies opened fire when the the man pointed the gun toward them, according to the sheriff's office.

The deputies - 20, 18, and 6-year veterans - were placed on administrative leave. Others inside the home were taken into custody for questions, according to the sheriff's office.
