Shoreline Miracle: Heart Attack Victim Saved By Diligent Police, Fire Effort

Rescuers used a defibrillator 6 times - plus CPR - to revive the woman.

SHORELINE, WA - The fire department reported Wednesday morning that police, firefighters, and paramedica teamed up to save a local woman's life after she went into cardiac arrest.

A Shoreline Police officer was first to arrive on the scene, and he was able to use a portable defibrillator on the 61-year-old. The officer used the device twice in an attempt to revive her. Then, firefighters arrived and used the defibrillator on the woman two more times. When those efforts failed to revive the woman, the Shoreline Fire medic unit arrived and shocked the woman two more times and performed CPR.

Their diligent efforts paid off - the department reported that the woman is alive and recovering at a local hospital.
