Shoreline Woman Injured After Tree Falls Across I-5
A Shoreline woman was injured in a crash after a tree fell across I-5 in Fife on Wednesday.

FIFE, WA - A 54-year-old Shoreline woman was injured in a crash along I-5 in Fife Wednesday afternoon. The woman was injured after a tree fell on her car when she stopped for traffic north of Exit 137 near Fife. A second car was also hit by the tree.
Washington State Patrol reported that Mary Sabetto, 54, was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. State police say that she was driving southbound near 7oth Avenue, which is right at the border of Milton and Fife near Federal Way. Sabetto slowed down for stopped traffic, and a tree fell across all lanes of traffic. The tree hit her car first.

Sabetto was listed in satisfactory condition, according to Harborview. She gave interviews to Seattle-area TV stations on Thursday, saying that she "can't wait" to get back to work and see her kids.

A second car, driven by James Van Pelt, 55, of Olympia, was also hit by the tree. He was not injured.
State police believe high wind caused the tree to fall across the highway.
