Shoreline Woman Killed In Crash Had 'Bright Heart'
Staci L. Laugle, 26, has been identified as the victim in a street racing-related crash in Mountlake Terrace Sept. 1.

SHORELINE, WA - The Snohomish County Medical Examiner last week identified the woman killed in a Sept. 1 crash in Mountlake Terrace as Staci L. Laugle, 26, of Shoreline. Her friends and family have since memorialized her in real life with a display at the scene of the crash, and have preserved her Facebook page as a living memorial.
Laugle died Sept. 1 when the car she was a passenger in crashed in Mountlake Terrace near the intersection of 48th Avenue West and 222nd Street Southwest. The driver, Michael C. Spieker, is facing a vehicular homicide charge in connection to the crash.
Spieker was allegedly texting and had several drinks before the crash, according to court records. Spieker allegedly crashed when he tried to pass a car in front of him and instead drove into a forested area. The car caught fire upon impact, according to reports, but the medical examiner said Laugle died of multiple blunt force injuries.

"I had the privilege to work with Staci early on this year for a few months and in that time she was such a bright heart and funny soul around the office! I also enjoyed our banter and I'm so glad that I have those memories. She was truly an amazing lady and I wish her family nothing but peace," former co-worker Sara Brown wrote.
