At St. Luke School, we strive to develop a lifelong love of learning and service to others. St. Luke combines a solid educational base with the development of a child’s social awareness, emotional intelligence, and faith base. In doing so, we develop the whole child supporting individuality while instilling the key tenets of self-assurance and confidence.

With a focus on core areas of learning (math; science; language arts/literature; social studies; religion) St. Luke develops the educational foundation appropriate at each grade level. Learning objectives in each subject area build from one year to the next, broadening each student’s academic exposure, and helping them to discover and explore particular interests. St. Luke School strives to challenge each student, to develop their individual talents, and to strengthen their core values.

In addition to the core curriculum, St. Luke students take classes in music with our music teacher, learn sportsmanship and physical skills under the direction of our physical education teacher in our full-size gymnasium, and create art through integrated cross-disciplinary projects.

The St. Luke curriculum is based on Archdiocesan and state academic standards. The success of St. Luke students as they move up through high school, and on through undergraduate and graduate-level college, is a testament to the solid educational fundamentals we develop.

ST LUKE HAS BEEN A FANTASTIC PLACE for our three children. Our family has experienced every grade from preschool through 8th, and at each stage, the teaching was excellent. In particular, the junior high teachers are very experienced and really “get” the kids at that age. They handle everything with amazing patience and a relentless sense of humor, simultaneously challenging and nurturing kids through those tricky middle school years.

We love the fact that at St. Luke, our kids are not only receiving an excellent education, but have the opportunity to do so much beyond the classroom: band, speech, math competitions, chess club, student council, safety patrol, trips to Washington DC, and more. In particular, all our kids have loved playing CYO sports, where they have learned sportsmanship, physical skill, and how to win and lose with grace. In addition, we’ve found that when classmates are also teammates, it builds camaraderie among the students, encouraging them to help each otherboth in the classroom and on the field.

What we appreciate most about St. Luke is that, beyond top-notch academics and athletics, they are teaching our children to be good people. To share their gifts with others. To give back to the community. To help those less fortunate. To set a good example. To be a leader. This is what St. Luke does best.

Overall, St. Luke School is a loving, welcoming community where students are cared for, valued, academically challenged and exceedingly prepared for high school and beyond. I can’t imagine sending my children anywhere else.

THE PARENTS AND KIDS ARE NICE, FRIENDLY, AND INCLUSIVE even if you join the school in the later grades. My child, husband and myself feel it’s the “nicest” school we have ever been involved with. The teachers are warm and supportive and really care about your child. The teachers here are MSL trained (Multi-sensory learning) so that they understand your child’s learning style. If a child is having trouble in an area, they will try a different teaching strategy to reach them. They really want your child to succeed. My daughter’s self-esteem has gone up because she is absorbing more information (so learning more) and doing better at school. Her self-esteem has shot up because she feels more successful. Because the school day includes music, art and religion there is more variety in each day. My daughter looks forward to going to school and is up on time. St. Luke offers a wide variety of sports and after school classes which have been a lot of fun. Could you ask for anything more?

MY FAMILY CAME TO ST LUKE LAST YEAR when my daughter was going into the first grade and my son was going into the sixth grade. I decided to look into St. Luke at that time because I didn’t feel like my children were getting what they needed from their neighborhood school. My daughter started her first grade year behind in reading and math skills. Her teacher at St. Luke worked very hard to get her caught up with what she should have learned in Kindergarten and what she needed to learn in the first grade. Now in the second grade, she loves to go to school and read! My son has always done very well in school but I felt like he was being held back by not getting enough school work at the pace he needed. He loves to learn but I was seeing the spark leave him during his fifth grade year and I knew I needed to do something. Now he is so excited to wear a uniform and go to St. Luke! He is happy to be with other kids that love to learn and who truly care about each other. His whole attitude has changed: He’s excited to go to school, excited about math, science, religion, art, and field trips! I believe that St. Luke has made my children happier and more excited about their future.
