Viewfinder: Dancing in the Street at Jazz Walk 2011
Ideal weather during the evening brought neighbors out to celebrate music, food and fancy footwork at North City Jazz Walk.
Light breezes eclipsed the night air as well as live jazz and salsa dancing as the sun was setting last night. The street was blocked off for hundreds of people who attended North City Jazz Walk. A good many businesses hosted a unique music group. This kick-off event highlights an entire week of summer celebrations in Shoreline.
While a hot dog stand fed many a passerby, friends took the streets showing off their sizzling, Latin dance moves. Strangers shared slices of pizza while other folks tapped their toes next to their pet dog. Some sold flowers as they observed neighbors drinking frothy, mango smoothies as they all listened to great jazz.

Perhaps, a participant’s T-shirt said it all, “The drinking [and music] will continue until the economy improves.”
