Watch: Rainn Wilson Helps Shorecrest Students Spread Kindness
This 'The Office' parody was a way for students to show how the student body spreads kindness.
SHORELINE, WA - Actor and comedian Rainn Wilson helped students from Shorecrest High School make a video about how the student body spreads kindness - and the result is a faithful recreation of the TV show, and an effective vehicle for the students' message.
Wilson played the character Dwight Schrute on "The Office." He also grew up in Shoreline, graduating from Kellogg Middle School and Shorecrest. In the video, Shorecrest Principal Lisa Gonzalez plays the role of Michael Scott, awkwardly forcing a group of students to brainstorm ideas for kindness in a conference room.
To get some new ideas, the students call up Wilson (on the kindness scale, he rates himself between "an Ewok and a nun"). But it turns out the students are already doing a pretty good job with kindness, singing "Happy Birthday" to teachers and greeting students in the morning with scones and cookies.

In real life, Wilson is somewhat of a kindness expert. He co-founded the website Soulpancake, which specializes in creating "positive and inspiring media" content.
"Shorecrest is where I mastered kindness," Wilson says in the video. "Shorecrest, I can still feel your spirit, and I love you."
