Whiz Kid: Nathan Skamser, Kellogg Middle School

Name:  Nathan Skamser

 Age:  15

 Hometown:  Lake Forest Park

 School:  Kellogg Middle School

 Major accomplishments:  Nathan is a member of the Kellogg Middle School track and field team as well as an all-star on the Kellogg cross country team.  In addition to being a proud member of the athletic team, Nathan has also been honored by Kellogg's elite Knights of the Round Table.  Also, Nathan is a member of the PALS club.  Last year, Nathan was a rock star and participated in the Kellogg Middle School talent show with his own interpretation of Michael Jackson's "Thriller". 

 Key to awesomeness:  Nathan is a phenomenal friend and peer to his classmates in the Special Education classroom and fellow middle school students.  He is an outstanding mentor to his classmates and steps into the role of a classroom leader on a daily basis.  His presence on the athletic teams, and his overall friendliness, has given the Kellogg community the opportunity to be aware of fellow students with disabilities and he has taught his general education peers that those with different abilities have so many varying talents, thoughts and personalities as well as the ability to be wonderful and caring friends.  Thankfully, Nathan's amazing attitude, determination and perseverance, is quite contagious in his classroom and around the school.
