🌱 400 Thanksgiving Meals Served + STA Proposes New Fare System

  1. Around 400 Thanksgiving meals were delivered on Thursday to seniors and homebound individuals throughout Spokane. The deliveries were coordinated by Meals on Wheels Spokane and Feed Thy Neighbor of the Inland Northwest. Feed Thy Neighbor volunteer Penny Moyer said around 70 volunteers helped with this year's deliveries. (The Spokesman-Review)
  2. The Spokane Transit Authority is proposing a new fare system that would ensure riders never pay more than they need to. The proposed policy, which the STA Board is expected to consider in January, would allow contactless payment through mobile phones for the first time in the transit system's history. Customers also would be allowed to manage their accounts from anywhere online and add cash to their STA Smart Card or mobile phone. (The Spokesman-Review)
  3. The Northwest Winterfest's largest holiday lantern display will be back at the Spokane Fair and Expo Center starting Friday. (KREM.com)
  4. People in need of a COVID-19 test can now get one at the Spokane Fair and Expo Center. The new drive-thru mass testing site opened on Friday. (KXLY Spokane)
  5. Deputies with the Spokane County Sheriff's Office are getting a bit of a new look. The office is replacing its shoulder patch with a retro design from a logo used in the late to mid-1950s. (KXLY Spokane)
