City Creates Reduced Utility Rates for Micro-Sized Living Units (spokanecity.org) — Spokane is rolling out reduced utility rates in November for micro-sized apartments under 350 square feet, cutting sewer and water-wastewater charges to 60% of standard multi-family rates. City leaders say the change could save residents about $28 a month per unit and support much-needed low-income housing, with property owners asked to contact Spokane 311 to register qualifying units.

Spokane Greek Festival marks 90 years of food, faith and family traditions (kxly920.com) — Spokane's Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church is celebrating 90 years of its beloved Greek Festival this weekend, filling the grounds with traditional food, dancing, and community. Generations of families return annually, with organizers emphasizing that everyone is welcome to share in the culture, connection, and sense of home the festival creates.
4. People Who Care Luncheon (spokanejournal.com) — A Spokane-based nonprofit, Transitions, is inviting community members to its People Who Care Luncheon, a one-hour program highlighting women's journeys toward stability and independence. Attendees will hear personal stories, learn how the organization supports women's growth, and be asked to consider ways they can help sustain this work, with no cost to attend.
5. Washington grant awarded to broadband providers to extend internet to underserved communities (nbcrightnow.com) — Spokane County and the Spokane Tribe are set to benefit from major new broadband investments, with thousands of local households slated to gain access to high‑speed internet over the next several years. Washington's Broadband Office has signed contracts with seven providers, combining $165 million in federal, state and private funds to extend fiber and other infrastructure to nearly 28,500 underserved homes statewide.
