Through the Bite of Reality simulation and expert-led activities, teens practiced budgeting, handling surprise expenses, and setting personal finance goals to better prepare for life after graduation.

Treats 2 Troops: How to donate (krem.com) โ Spokane residents can support local service members from Fairchild Air Force Base by donating Treats 2 Troops items at any Spokane-area Rosauers or First Interstate Bank. Pre-packaged snacks, small gifts, letters, or cash donations will be turned into holiday care packages for men and women serving overseas, with clearly marked collection boxes in stores and bank lobbies.

Former Spokane parking lot becomes 210 apartments with help from city tax incentive (krem.com) โ A former downtown Spokane parking lot has been transformed into 210 relatively affordable apartments, made possible by a city tax incentive aimed at turning underused pavement into housing. Rents target workers and students earning 60% to 80% of area median income, and at least half the units must stay affordable for 10 years, giving more Spokane residents a chance at stable, centrally located housing.

4. $10,000 grant will help close Spokane County's 'Argonne Gap' on Centennial Trail (krem.com) โ Spokane County has secured a $10,000 Rails to Trails grant to help fix the dangerous "Argonne Gap" on the Centennial Trail, where users now ride alongside vehicle traffic. The money will support a wider, separated path and swale, with construction planned for 2027โ2028 and a long-term goal of fully closing the gap for safer neighborhood and school connections.
