- Blippi the Musical is coming to Spokane in April. Blippi, the children's YouTube sensation, will bring the energetic and educational children's character from the screen to the stage for an evening of fun, dancing, and singing. The show will take place on April 14 at the First Interstate Center for the Arts. (KXLY Spokane)
- A man was reportedly kidnapped and tortured in a Spokane Valley motel room, according to Spokane County Sheriff's detectives. Police are investigating after the victim says he arranged to meet a woman on Jan 14., and when she invited him up to a room on the second floor, a man pointed a gun at his head while another placed him in handcuffs and blindfolded him. Police are investigating the case, which took place at Motel 6 on N. Hutchinson Road. (KREM.com)
- For the first time in decades, Spokane will hold an official Lunar New Year celebration. The event will take place on Feb. 5 at the Riverfront Park Central Plaza and will feature Asian Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander cultural organizations, artists, food trucks, and live cultural performances throughout the day, followed by a sparkling fireworks show at night. This year's celebration, hosted by Spokane's United We Stand, will mark the first celebration in Spokane in 89 years. (KXLY Spokane)
