Spokane Police responded to a burglary call in the 500 block of South Ray Street about 2:00pm on Oct. 5th. A woman reported a man pulling a blanket out of her garage. Before she had a chance to confront him outside the woman said he entered her house where she chased him out with a broom.
Police developed probable cause to arrest 30- year old Nicholas Berry who claimed he entered the home because he thought a longtime friend lived there. Berry was arrested by Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies in the early morning hours Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021 after entering another woman’s home in the 10300 block of East Trent. He told deputies he was there to see a friend he had not seen for 8 years. Berry was booked into the Spokane County Jail for Residential Burglary for the incident on Trent Ave and released on his own recognizance later that day.
