The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Spokane.
Good morning, people of Spokane! Sean Peek here with the Friday copy of the Spokane Daily.
First, today's weather:
Some brightening. High: 46 Low: 36.
Here are the top three stories in Spokane today:
- The Creek at Qualchan opens Mar. 12 and the Esmeralda Golf Course will open on Mar. 16. The two golf courses are displaying tee times on their websites. Opening dates for Downriver and Indian Canyon golf courses have not been announced yet. (KXLY Spokane)
- Spokane Valley spent 61 percent of its budget on public safety programs last year. That comes out to be $29.8 million which has caused administrators to search for methods of streamlining public safety costs. The costs of public safety are expected to rise after multi-year collective bargaining agreements were made with the police union and Spokane County Sherriff's Office. (Omak Okanogan County Chronicle)
- The 17th Annual Spokane Motorcycle Show and Sale returns to the Spokane area after a two-year COVID-19 pandemic hiatus. The show will be this Friday through Saturday at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center. It will be the perfect location to search for hard-to-find motorcycle parts, watch stunt shows, and win prizes through motorcycle contests. (The Spokesman Review)
