- A Spokane naturopath will pay nearly $50,000 for improperly prescribing controlled substances. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Washington says Christopher M. Valley, N.D. improperly prescribed at least 318 controlled substances between Dec. 2015 and Dec. 2020. Valley acknowledged he prescribed stimulants like modafinil, the sedative pregabalin, the diet drug phentermine, the sleep aid zopidem and ketamine, even though he was only authorized to prescribe codeine and testosterone products. - Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward was on the set of the movie 'Dreamin' Wild' in October and she talked with KREM 2 about how the film industry could impact the city's growth. The stars of 'Dreamin' Wild' include some big names in Hollywood: Zooey Deschanel and Casey Affleck. Woodward said Spokane was also chosen to film the movie due to the number of film incentives that Washington offers with these kinds of productions. (KREM.com)
- With windy conditions and gusts up to 34 miles per hour, over 800 Avista customers in the Geiger Heights lost power after a tree fell on a power line on Tuesday. (FOX 28 Spokane)
- The Winter Market will open up this week for its second year, offering a whole host of local vendors to shop from and support. Entry to the market itself is free, and it will be open 3-7 p.m. for most Wednesdays until the end of the year. (FOX 28 Spokane)
