Here are the top three stories today in Spokane:
- A rollover crash occurred in Northwest Spokane on Friday morning. The collision involved a Toyota striking a truck while speeding through Queen Street. The driver of the Toyota was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the two individuals in the truck did not sustain injuries. Authorities report that drugs or alcohol might have been involved in the collision. (KXLY Spokane)
- A Spokane home has sustained moderate to heavy damage after electric wiring in their furnace overheated. The Spokane Fire Department responded to the 4500 block of North Crestline when a homeowner noticed smoke billowing out of their furnace. Firefighters located the issue and extinguished the small flame within ten minutes. The department has issued a statement reminding the community to call professionals to perform electrical work. - Spokane Humane Society announced that it has received a $50,000 grant to care for more shelter pets in the Spokane area. The funds were provided by PetSmart Charities. The money will be used towards shelter funding and veterinary care for the animals. (FOX 28 Spokane)
