Here are the top three stories in Spokane today:

  1. A local nonprofit has announced a $150 million campaign to support higher education for all Spokane County high school graduates. The Innovia Foundation is launching a fundraiser drive this March to raise funds for "promise scholarships" that will help every high school grad in the county pay for college or vocational training. (Free: NBC Right Now; Subscription: Omak Okanogan County Chronicle)
  2. The Spokane Indians team is now hiring gameday employees to work at Avista Stadium for the 2022 season. Perks of the role include complimentary tickets, free and discounted merchandise, and professional development opportunities. The team has a variety of opening positions for applicants aged 16 and older; prospective candidates can learn more or apply on the Indians' website. (KREM.com)
  3. Over 40 years after a Vietnam Navy pilot and Gonzaga grad went missing, his remains have been returned to his family. U.S. Naval Reserve Commander Paul Charvet, aged 26 at the time, went missing in action in March of 1967; his remains were first identified in 2020, with the process completed in 2021. On Wednesday, Charvet's remains were brought home to his family at the Anchorage airport. (KXLY Spokane)
