Spokane Among Best Cities To Live On Six-Figure Salary: Report
For families earning $100,000 or more, Spokane is a great place to live, according to a new report.

SPOKANE, WA - Spokane can be a great place to live for any number of reasons, but a new study by the finance website MagnifyMoney.com has found that it's an especially great place to live for families earning $100,000 or more. Spokane was ranked the No. 5 best place in the western U.S. for families earning that kind of income.
How did they arrive at that determination? The website calculated the post-tax earnings for a married couple (with one child) earning a combined $100,000. Then, they subtracted the average expenses in seven areas: food, housing, childcare, entertainment, student loans, savings, and transportation. In Spokane, a family in that scenario still has about $1,700 left at the end of the month.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, some U.S. cities are too expensive for a three-person household earning $100,000. In Washington, D.C., according to the research, that type of family would have NEGATIVE $105 left at the end of the month.
