  1. A special Dutch Bros. Coffee shop location is set to open in the Spokane area this week. The new location will have a dine-in coffee area which makes this particular location unique to the chain. One dollar from every drink sold on the grand opening date will be donated to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Center to further the work they do. (KXLY Spokane)
  2. Washington state's Office of Financial Management released population projections for Spokane County. The projection calls for a gain of 90,000 people over the next 18 years. The Spokane area has seen a lot of development in recent years to deal with the expected increase in population including Riverfront Park's event-based construction, Kendall Yards new businesses, and The Podium's newest sports facility completion.   3. The Spokane Fire Department responded to a detached garage fire. On Feb. 5, crews arrived at the scene to discover flames engulfing a detached garage and promptly deployed multiple hoses to combat the fire. There were no reported injuries to any firefighters who responded to the fire with the fire's cause currently under investigation. (Press Release Desk)
