Dead Body Found Near Downtown Spokane: Police

Some streets in the area west of the Gonzaga campus might be blocked due to a death investigation.

SPOKANE, WA - Spokane police are investigating a death just west of the Gonzaga campus near the downtown area. Police reported Monday morning that a body had been found along the 1100 block of North Division Street. That location is near the intersection of East Desmet Avenue.

The body was reportedly found behind the Bulldog Liquor and Wine store.

Today June 5, 2017, just after 10:30 hrs., the Spokane Police Department responded to the 1100 block of N. Division St., where a deceased male had been located in the alleyway behind the Liquor and Wine Store. Spokane Police Officers and Major Crimes Unit (MCU) Detectives responded to the scene for the investigation. Spokane Police are actively investigating to determine the cause/nature of the unattended death. One lane on the west side of N. Division St., will be closed around the area of the investigation until the investigation is complete.
Spokane Police ask anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area, or had any information for the death investigation, to call Crime Check at (509)456-2233.
The identity of the deceased and the cause of death will be released by the Spokane Medical Examiner’s Office.
