Spokane Police Kill Suspect During Domestic Violence Incident

The incident happened at a home along the 5900 block of South Mt. Vernon Road just after midnight Monday.

SPOKANE, WA - Spokane police shot and killed a man in south Spokane just after midnight Monday while responding to a domestic violence incident. Spokane police and Spokane County Sheriff's deputies were sent to a home along the 5900 block of South Mt. Vernon Road on a report of a domestic violence incident involving a gun. Spokane police arrived first, and heard shots coming from the home.

Two Spokane officers opened fire, and struck a man who was at the home. The suspect was taken to the hospital, which is where he died.

The shooting is under investigation by the multi-agency Spokane Investigative Regional Response Team (SIRR) team. Both officers were wearing body cameras at the time of the shooting.

No one else was injured during the incident.
