Here are the top three stories today in Spokane:

  1. The City of Spokane is helping residents remove extra waste from their property using the Neighborhood Clean-Up program. Residents can request a disposal pass through the program to cover up to $25 in tipping fees. Click the link for a full Solid Waste Disposal Guide and to sign up for a disposal pass. (KXLY Spokane)
  2. On Saturday, Spokane Fire District 8 responded to the first brushfire of the year. The crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire with no injuries. The fire covered a half-acre and is a strong reminder that fire season is rapidly approaching. Residents are reminded to quickly report any fire and to remain diligent with burns or firepits. 3. Spokane Parks and Recreation released its Spokane Spring Activity Guide this weekend. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor activities meant for all age groups in the guide.
