🌱 Spokane Valley City Council Raises + ARPA Fund Tracking

First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories in Spokane today:
- Spokane County is delaying the distribution of $43 million American Rescue Plan Act funds to implement a software program. The new program would track the expenditures made from the funds. The County has put out a Request for Proposals to software companies for an estimate on software pricing. (Omak Okanogan County Chronicle)
- Spokane Public Schools broke ground on two new middle school buildings. The first building will be at 2616 E 63rd Ave and the second building will be for the Sacajawea Middle School. Both schools are part of the recent $495.3 million district-wide plan approved by the 2018 bond. (KREM.com)
- The Spokane Valley City Council will receive a 27 percent raise; however, the salary will still be below minimum wage. The raise was determined by an independent volunteer salary commission. The raise will bring the salary to $21,600 per year with the mayor's salary being $27,000. (The Spokesman Review)
