Spokane's 10-Minute Burglar: Cops Nab Suspect Within Minutes Of Crime
A Spokane burglar didn't make it far after hitting an apartment along South Riverton Avenue Tuesday night.

SPOKANE, WA - An armed burglar was caught within a few minutes of pilfering an apartment along East South Riverton Avenue Tuesday night. Police responded to an apartment in the 1800 block around 8:30 p.m. after the victim called to report waking up to a stranger in his apartment. The suspect fled when the victim woke up.
The victim gave police a good description, and within minutes - 10 minutes, to be exact - an officer spotted the suspect near the intersection of South Riverton and North Magnolia Street.
The suspect was found to be holding a gun, a little bit of methamphetamine, and some stolen property.

Police arrested Arturo Champine, 25, on suspicion of first-degree burglary, unlawful possession of a firearm (Champine has a felony conviction, Spokane police said), and possession of methamphetamine.
