Here are the top three stories today in Spokane:
- While COVID-19 tests are in high demand, visiting urgent care clinics may provide a quicker way for Spokane residents to receive their tests. Appointments are encouraged, although if there are none available, the urgent care clinics accept all walk-ins. (KREM.com)
- Zack Zappone has assumed office as the first openly bisexual candidate elected to the Spokane City Council. He won the Nov. election against businessman Mike Lishhas, and filled the District 3 seat on the Spokane City Council vacated by Candace Mumm. A local teacher, Zappone was sworn-in to his seat in front of his students at North Central High School, which is the same school he attended. (KREM.com)
- Spokane fire crews reportedly found "hoarder conditions" and human feces inside a home in east central. 11 children were found to be living in these conditions at the home on 6th and Crestline, which included six-foot piles of garbage and human feces throughout the home.
