Here are the top three stories today in Spokane:

  1. The Spokane Police Department was called to the Dishman Hills parking lot after reports of shots fired. Spokane Valley officials announced that they have detained one juvenile during what they suspect was target practice. Police officials report that they do not believe there was a threat to the public. (KHQ Right Now)
  2. The Spokane Fire Department pulled a body from the Spokane River. The body was found near the TJ Meenach Bridge. Officers with the Spokane Police Major Crimes Unit have begun an investigation surrounding the circumstances that led to the discovery of the unidentified body. (KHQ Right Now)
  3. Spokane County has decided to install J-turns onto the US 2-Colbert Road intersection. The decision to update the intersection took over three years of discussion with the public and a $2.4 million funding requirement. The intersection has been the site of several severe and often fatal accidents. (FOX 28 Spokane)
