- Detectives still searching for Edward Leavens, who is suspected of violently beating his mother at her Spokane Valley residence. Due to the violent nature of the assault, Major Crimes Detectives and Forensic Unit Technicians visited the scene to continue the investigation and collect evidence. The suspect is still at large and is believed to be on foot. (KHQ Right Now)
- Under a new directive from Gov. Jay Inslee, thousands of workers in Washington will need to be fully vaccinated in just over a month on Oct. 18. Most state employees have to get vaccinated against COVID-19, as well as many professionals in Washington's education field. However, medical and religious exemptions will be allowed. - A Montana man is accused of kidnapping his girlfriend, bringing her to Spokane and assaulting her after she tried to break up with him, said Spokane Valley Police Department. (KXLY Spokane)
