Here are the top stories today in Spokane:

  1. Two people were rescued from a house fire in West Central on Friday. The Spokane Fire Department said the two people were burning trash in their fireplace for warmth, but the fire quickly spread to nearby combustibles. (KXLY Spokane)
  2. A Snohomish-based developer, Kōz Development, known for apartment projects in walkable, urban neighborhoods is bringing its concept to Spokane. Kōz filed a preliminary application with the city last week to build Kōz on West 4th Avenue, a multifamily apartment project consisting of 262 units in two buildings. The two buildings will encompass a total of 172,000 square feet, each spanning five to six stories. (The Spokesman Review)
  3. Jason Chudy, public information officer for ATF in Seattle, announced the ATF agent who was shot during an operation Friday in a Motel 6 parking lot west of downtown Spokane was released from the hospital. (The Spokesman Review)
  4. The City of Spokane announced this week the annual leaf pickup activities will begin Monday, Nov. 8, and will continue through December. (KHQ Right Now)
